XIX Nineteen Restaurant + Patio

May 10, 2019Remedy Cafe, located in Raymond Block on Whyte Ave in Edmonton is one of many restaurants that Sohail “Zee” Zaidi has opened over the past few years. RH had the pleasure of working with Zee to design and supply the Whyte Avenue location, where we were able to bring his concepts to life. Kelly Keeling, one of our Senior Designers at RH, had nothing but good words to say about the experience.
I really enjoy working with Zee, he is very creative and always looking for ways to improve inefficiencies and workflow. It’s been a fun experience to introduce him to new products such as the Instinct pre-rinse faucet and the Menumaster MOC24’s.

About Zee & Remedy
Zee has been described as a serial entrepreneur, continually working and building businesses. His first job in North America was as a New York taxi driver, where rumour has it, he brushed with the rich and famous and charmed his way out of robberies (don’t believe us, ask him yourself!). Once in Canada, Remedy Cafe started to come to fruition, after Zee purchased a sandwich cafe on 109 Street and 87 Avenue.
The theme of the Cafe is Indian and Pakistani dishes with a twist. The cafe serves up a variety of food items and even provides great options for those with dietary restrictions, like the Vegan Palak Paneer Wrap or Vegan Kuffta Wrap. Each one of the Remedy Cafe’s is different than the last and serves up food and beverages based on what customers in that area would like.
Equipment Choices
In terms of the equipment supplied, the storefront features large Federal display cases which house a variety of grab-and-go drink items as well as ready-made food options. Federal products have been manufacturing display cases, both and hot cold, for over 90 years. Another advantage of choosing Federal products is their green innovations, saving the operator money with their Clear Coil total system approach. As mentioned, each location is different, so some locations have a larger area with more room for things like a cooking line, or walk-in boxes, whereas others are more of a kiosk-style where customers can grab things on the go.
What's Next
Zee has 4 more locations on the go, all of what which RH has designed and will be supplying equipment for, Remedy Sherwood Park, Remedy Bell Tower, Remedy UofA and Remedy CAB. UofA is well underway and will be ready soon for install, Remedy Bell Tower will be opening in June 2019, followed by CAB, and Sherwood Park. Edmontonians have been delighted by each new venture, and are excited to see what new and healthy menu items will be featured at the new locations.
